I will have a small selection of photographs and works on paper included in a group exhibition curated by Alyona Coureau for Current Curators. The show will open at the historic studio building at 56 Bogart St. in Brooklyn on Friday, September 22, from 5-9 PM, and will then be open by appointment until October 22.

Titled how to keep the [inner] peace, this exhibition is one portion of Outside Salon, a three-part group showcase event being put together by Current Curators, a non-profit organization working in support of independent curators.

"On the occasion of Bushwick Open Studios 2017, Brooklyn’s premier contemporary arts event and one of the largest open studios events in the world, Current Curators has invited Coureau and ADEN + AYERS, along with Handler and Pissarro, each to submit a proposal for a group exhibition, which together comprise Outside Salon, a collectively-organized joint-showcase of 30+ artists working outside of Bushwick. Presented in three segments, Outside Salon is distinguished from traditional gallery and studio shows by its exhibition method, foregrounding the articulation of three individual curatorial concepts within a unifying yet flexible format. The resulting salon-style show transcends the limitations of provisional resources and material. Outside Salon is dedicated to the exploration of innovative and collaborative curatorial methodologies, involving a wide-ranging selection of works drawn from beyond the immediate locale of North Brooklyn."

As mentioned, the opening takes place during Bushwick Open Studios, a three day arts and culture festival hosted by the volunteer-run organization Arts in Bushwick, which takes place September 22 - 24. You can find more information on BOS 2017 and the Arts in Bushwick organization here.
